Ida Gundogdu
Enjoying life with a gelato in one hand and a lemon in the other - whether it’s a holiday or not
Ida is a soon-to-be architect, an extremely creative soul with a killer eye for aesthetics. She loves her good night sleep and could live days by only eating pasta vongole. She is also my best friend and the best companion to explore dolce vita as we share love for baths, sun-riped tomatoes, ice-cream (pretty much all things sweet to be honest) and laying under the sun doing nothing. Dolce far niente is our favorite time to spend time together. Enough reasons why she is my first choice to talk about the good life.
“Currently I’m finishing my studies and transferring into work life. I find the balance between work and free time by having chill nights and cooking with my partner or going for walks or dinners with friends. It does not matter what kind of a day it is - I think sharing moments with others will make everything better. It can be breakfast together or having super interesting conversation at work.”
“I love lemons and add it to almost everything!” she says while asking about her favorite food. True. I have never known anyone who savors lemons like Ida do. Passing by a pile of those zesty things in a market always brings her to my mind. I’ve literally seen her adding it to everything you may imagine. I love seeing how happy she always looks squeezing one all over her food☺
“By far in my life the best routine I have learned is to sleep enough!” And exercise, a bit at least.” Ida’s go-to leisure activities are walking, yoga and biking, and when we hit the summertime: tennis and swimming. She has explored many things from trail-running to rowing and what I love about her; she does things out of fun and curiosity and never out of because needing to.
Saturday is great because you can do whatever you want and then there is still Sunday left!
Saturday is her favorite day of the week. But speaking about the good life with her leaves a feeling that she’s fine with every day of the week. “It is the small things in life that make me happy - like eating gelato in Rome this week! Yet I think spending time with loved ones and enjoying life whether it is a holiday or not is a key for happy times.”
It’s valuable to remember life is never just a cinch. “One doesn’t always have to be positive and in a good mood. Allowing different feelings to be and pass through and learning about yourself along the way are a base for living the good life.”
